Harlan was born on August 19, 1926 to John and Delia Jorgenson in Morris, MN. He was raised on a farm in Minnesota and graduated from high school in 1944. Following graduation he joined the US Navy Seabees serving during WWII. Following his honorable discharge in 1946 he moved to Portland, Oregon to learn the auto body trade. He later moved to Pendleton, OR where he completed his training in the auto body trade. He returned to Minnesota to marry his high school sweetheart, Jennell Lang. They built and made their first home in Pendleton, OR. Their first daughter, Nancy was born in 1947. In 1951 their daughter, Joy Marie joined the family. The next move for the family was Milton-Freewater, OR where he bought his first body shop and wrecker service. In 1961 the family moved to Pasco, WA where Bud began his employment as a body and fender instructor at Columbia Basin College. They later moved to Burbank, WA where he built a home overlooking the Snake River. Bud retired in 1981 and he and his wife built their dream cabin in Goldendale, WA. Wanting to be closer to family, they later moved to Nampa and soon thereafter Bud built their home in Caldwell where they have since lived.
He was always very adventuresome. He loved to ride his dirt bike and road bike, snowmobile, owned his own whitewater raft, snow skied, ski dived, water skied, learned to fly and later bought an ultra lite. He also enjoyed running which he continued to do until his health forced him to discontinue that.
He was always very active in the churches he attended. From the age of 20 when he gave his life to Jesus, he continued to serve and love his Lord with a deep passion.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jennell Jorgenson, Caldwell; his 2 daughters, Nancy Lansing and Joy (Jerry) Kern, all of Nampa; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and 2 more on the way and a sister, Stella Raasch, Chokio, MN.
