Obituary

Harry William Smith, 82, of Nampa, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at a Nampa care center. A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. Immediately following the service all are invited to a reception at the Elks Lodge, 1116 1st St. S. in Nampa. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.

Harry was born on May 11, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised and educated in Nebraska. He married his wife, Martha in 1949. He then served in the United States Marine Corps. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage until she passed away in 1999. Harry worked as a supervisor for Armours Meat Pack for many years.

In 2002, he married Melinda. Harry was so proud of his new extended family and he often spoke of this time as the best of his life. Harry has worked as a real estate agent until his death.

He was a proud Marine and a member of the American Legion of Nampa , a two-time past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge BPOE #1389, a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and was a Driver for Meals on Wheels, Senior Center Van, DAV Van and Mercy Express.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda; his stepchildren, Curtis and Chrystal Williams and their children, Forest and Dylon, Monica and Bret Miller and their children, Ella and Paisley and his many extended family members including, a sister in law and brother in law, Debbie and Greg Leonard and their children, Patrick and Mandy and his mother in law, Barbara Boggs, and Uncle Bill.
