Obituary

Henry Joseph Gervais, 75, of Nampa, passed away of natural causes at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa at midnight on May 7, 2015. Henry was born on May 23, 1939 in North Smithfield, Rhode Island to Oliver and Alice Gervais. Henry was a deeply patriotic and, at age 17, enlisted into the U.S. Air Force. He served honorably, including time in England and California, where he met, fell in love with, and married Rebecca DeCoux in 1962. They had two sons, David and Timothy and made their home in Costa Mesa, CA. Henry was a highly skilled and talented marine electronics technician and inventor. He owned and operated Wilbo Electronics in Newport Beach, CA. It was during this time that his research led to the development of modern marine corrosion control. In 1976, seeking a "change of pace", Henry and Becky moved their young family to Nampa, ID where he had a long and distinguished career with General Electric. After retirement, and a trip to Maui, Henry felt blessed to, and enjoyed nothing more, than spending time working on his home (and yard) and enjoying the company of his family. Henry is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rebecca "Becky" Gervais; sons, David Henry (Petra) Gervais and Timothy Joseph (Diana) Gervais all of Nampa; the grandchildren who he adored so much, Cory David Gervais, Sabina Britta Gervais, Michael David Henry Gervais, Christian Henry Gervais and Noah Joseph Gervais; brothers, Edward Oliver (Margie) Gervais of Florence, OR and their two children and Carl (Gloria) Gervais of Nampa; sister, Claire (Larry) DeCoux of Nampa and thier two children; and mother in law, Dale DeCoux. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice (Leo) Lambert Gervais Beaulieu and father, Oliver Napoleon (Yvette) Gervais. Henry was a truly great husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him.
