Homer Tidd Obituary Homer Eugene Tidd, a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated servant of the Lord, went home on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the age of 85. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, June 5 at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Bible Church, located at 1010 West Greenhurst Road, Nampa, Idaho. Homer was born on April 5, 1939, In Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Homer C. and Clara (Meneghini) Tidd. Raised and educated in Grand Rapids, Homer enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1958, where he served as a jet mechanic until 1962. On June 15, 1963, Homer married the love of his life, Mary L. (Troyer) Tidd, and together they built a life centered around faith, family, and community in Nampa, Idaho. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Lori. Throughout his professional career, Homer demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in various roles in a variety of companies. It was during his time at Idaho Power Company that Homers career truly flourished. Starting in Data Processing and Systems Engineering and progressing to Internal Auditor, he ultimately became Manager of Shareholder Services and Investor Relations, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and professionalism. Following his retirement in 1995, Homer continued to contribute his expertise to Idaho Power and other companies through his programming and system design business, Integrated Office Solutions. Homers faith in Christ was the cornerstone of his life, and he lived it out with unwavering devotion. He found joy in studying Gods Word and in sharing its wisdom with others, leading mens Bible Study Fellowship as well as numerous Sunday School classes and small groups. His faith touched the lives of many and left a profound impact on all who knew him. Beyond his professional and spiritual pursuits, Homer cultivated a rich tapestry of interests and hobbies. He found solace in gardening, landscaping, and enjoying the beauty of nature from his backyard deck. His artistic talents shone in his skilled woodworking, where he crafted exquisite carved pieces that continue to bring joy to those who cherish them. Homer and Marys shared love for travel took them on countless adventures, creating lasting memories with family and friends in Nebraska, Michigan, and many other stops along the way. Homers zest for life was reflected in his love for music, particularly the inspirational and classical genres, and in his commitment to staying active with daily walks on Wilson Springs trails or at the Nampa Recreation Center. Homer leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will be carried on by his beloved wife Mary, his daughters Debbie (Devin) Vierth and Lori (Don) Kurts, and his siblings Darlene (Leo) Vargaz, Sandra Stalec, Pam (Jim) Schoettker, Gary (Ardis) Tidd, and Mark (Sally) Tidd, as well as numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
