Inez McGee Obituary Inez Veronica (McCabe) McGee, 86, passed away on October 31st, 2024 at her home, in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by family. Inez grew up in Winona, Minnesota where she graduated as Valedictorian of Winona Cotter Catholic High School (1956). After considering joining a convent, Inez went on to the College of St. Teresa, graduating with a major in music education and minors in English and Spanish. Inez drove solo across the country in the summer of 1960 to teach English at Wilmington Jr. High in Southern California, where she would meet her best friend and love of her life, Dan McGee. Inez loved being an educator and helping students, teaching for over 30 years, earning multiple honors including teacher of the year and listed in the 1996 "Whos Who Among Americas Teachers" in the Library of Congress. Inez was a truly kind, patient, and charitable soul with a deep Catholic faith who was seen as a "prayer warrior." She was extremely proud to be an American and passionate about civic education. Inez and Dan were happily married for 62 years, and shared an adventurous spirit that took them to all 50 states and 38 countries throughout the world. Of all her adventures, Inezs favorites were being a wife to Dan, mother to Danny, grandmother to Morgan, Bailey, Abby, and great grandmother to Indiana. She taught all of them the values of love, faith, optimism, kindness, and was very proud of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred McCabe. Inez is survived by her husband Dan, her son Dan, Jr., her grandchildren Morgan (Raymond Mosman), Bailey, Abby, and her great granddaughter Indiana. A viewing will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Nampa Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 8 at 1:00 pm at St. Pauls Catholic Church, a graveside service will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nampa. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Inezs name may be directed to Winona Cotter Catholic High School in Minnesota or St. Pauls Catholic School in Nampa, Idaho.
