Irenio “Larry” Ramirez, 97, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
Larry was born on October 20th,1928 in Torrington, Wyoming, where he spent part of his early life before eventually settling in Nampa, Idaho, a place he proudly called home for many years.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. His greatest joy in life was his family, and he leaves behind a beautiful legacy that spans generations.
Larry was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for those he loved. He retired from Simplot after many years of dedicated service. However, retirement did not slow him down, as he went on to work as an electrician alongside his son-in-law, Thomas Gonzales, a partnership he greatly enjoyed.
Larry was especially proud of his family and the life they built together. He found joy in working the land, raising and caring for cows, spending long days in the pastures throwing hay bales, fishing, and tending a garden large enough to help feed his entire family. Whether working outdoors or spending time with loved ones, Larry’s strong work ethic, generosity, and devotion to family were evident in everything he did.
He was the kind of man who showed love through his actions. He worked hard, helped when he was needed, and gave what he could without expecting anything in return. His strength, humility, and steady presence were a source of comfort and inspiration to those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, MaryAnn Ramirez; his daughters, Debbie (Robert) Munoz and Kathy Ramirez, both of Nampa, Idaho; his brothers, Sipriano Ramirez, Jess Ramirez, and Richard Ramirez; and his sisters, Mary Ybarra, Sally (Sam) Lobato, Ruth Castillo, and Josie (Robert) Flores.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Amanda (Andrew) Viking, Marc Munoz, Bryan (Amy) Gonzales, Mateo (Amee Sherrer) Ramirez, Jennifer (Jeff) Stephens, Steven Munoz, Corey (Erin) Ramirez, and Stacy (Bernard Mills) Gonzales.
His great-grandchildren include Makenzie and Alejandro Viking; Asha, Alyce, and Thomas Gonzales; Sierra and Kye Stephens; Marissa (Freddy) Flores; Chloe Ramirez; Greenley and Bensen Ramirez; and Makyla and Malyk Mills.
His legacy continues through his great-great-grandchildren: Mashayla Rose; Gabriela, Estella, and Jeramiah Flores.
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Janice Gonzales, and son-in-law, Thomas Gonzales. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Cipriano and Elena Tallabas Ramirez; his brothers, Charlie, Albert, and Gonzalo Ramirez; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his tireless work ethic, and his willingness to help others. He was a man of strength, humility, and generosity whose love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the example he set will continue to inspire his family for generations to come.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
