Jake Knapp Lopez, 87, of Nampa peacefully passed away on December 15, 2010 with his family at his side. Jake was born on January 7, 1923 in Belen, New Mexico as 1 of 11 children (Fred, Charlie, Carmen, Martha, Jake, Helen, Lois, Lola, Lillian and Dorothy). His family moved to Torrington Wyoming where he was raised and educated. He met and married the love of his life, Margaret Tallabas on August 25, 1949. They moved to Canyon County in 1949 where they raised their two children. Jake took pride in his craftsmanship, work, his lawn, and garden. He loved to hunt and fish throughout his life. He loved playing baseball as a young man and loved watching baseball up to his passing. He took great joy in his grandchildren as well as his great grandchildren. Jake is survived by his son, Randy and Kim Lopez, and his daughter, Gloria Lopez, his sister Lola Silva, 4 grand children, 7 great grand children and many nieces and nephews all of whom cherished his life.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, Dec. 19, 201 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nampa. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
