James "Jim" Chandler passed away with his family by his bedside on Oct.2, 2015 at the Nampa Care Center where he lived for the past 7 years. He was 91 years old. Jim lived a long fulfilling life. He was born in Eden, Texas on August 28, 1924 to Jim and Maude Chandler. He was the oldest of 12 children. He married the love of his life Francis Marie Glover on Dec. 1, 1943. Jim attended Pacific Bible College in Portland. He was an ordained minister. He preached at many different churches and helped numerous families in their time of need. He worked as a mechanic all of his life. He and his youngest son Joe were in business together for 40 years. He also worked with three of his grandsons, Darin Lawley, Travis Chandler and Dustin Sigman. He taught many others how to work on cars. He retired in 2007 but never stopped talking about his lifelong profession. He is survived by his children Willis (Sandi) Chandler of Meridian, ID, Danny Chandler of Wallace, ID, Frank Chandler of Robie Creek, ID, Wanda (Doug) Huber of Meridian, ID, Joe Chandler of Nampa Idaho and Sue (Dean) Sigman of Nampa. He has 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Francis Marie Chandler; a daughter-in-law Onita Chandler; four of his siblings, Bill Chandler, Bertie Rowe, Ken Chandler and Donald Chandler; and his grandson Brodi Sigman. All of the family would like to thank all of the special people at Nampa Care Center for the love and care they provided Dad with in the 7 years he lived there. You all were very special to him and us. He also had special friends that lived there. There will a viewing at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 from 4:00 7:00 pm. There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa, ID immediately after the service. There will be a potluck at Joe Chandlers Shop, 4309 Diane Street, Nampa 83686 following the graveside service.
