Obituary

On November 14, 2014, James Levi Henrickson, 89, went to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Levi was born on the homestead farm off Lewis Lane, Nampa on March 28th 1925, to Clinnly Cleveland and Myrtle Henrickson. He was raised on the farm and attended Southside Blvd. school and graduated from Nampa Senior High School with honors in 1942. Levi continued on after high school, to use the skills his father had taught him, to be a farmer. On May 17, 1946, Levi married his sweetheart, Mildred Viola Ellis. Through their union, the two became one in heart, mind and work ethic. Levi loved the soil God had blessed him with and worked it with a heart of thanksgiving and was a honored farmer for his hybrid sweet corn. In the ensuing 27 years, 5 sons and 2 daughters would bless their union. Levi loved the Lord Jesus Christ and witnessed his faith through music. Singing solos and duets with Mildred. He played the violin and harmonica by ear. Levi was a member of Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, a born again believer. He was a past board member of the Nampa Christian Schools. Levi and Mildred loved to travel and blessed their children with many memories of fishing, camping and trips to see the country and relatives. Levi was proceeded in death by his wife Mildred (July 31, 2013), his parents C.C. and Myrtle Henrickson, Sisters Hazel Chapman and Esther Harrison, grandson Davin Henrickson and great granddaughter Leah Katherine. Levi is survived by his sons, Gary (Janet) Henrickson, Terry (Kathy) Henrickson, Timothy (Linda) Henrickson, Jim (Connie) Henrickson and Steve (Kristi) Henrickson. Daughters Myrna (Greg) Dillon-Williamson, Anita (Todd) Simonson, 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A heartfelt thank you to Billie Hammond of Hammond Adult Care for her loving servants heart to care for Levi these last few months. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene for Missions, 601 16th. Ave. So., Nampa, ID 83651 or Boise Rescue Mission Ministries, P.O. Box 1494, Boise, Idaho 83701. A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 601 16th. Ave. So. in Nampa. Burial will precede the memorial service at 1 PM at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. The family will greet loved ones and friends at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. 442-8171 on Wednesday evening, Nov 19, 2014 from 6 8 PM.
