James "Jim" Joseph Schrmack

James ( Jim) Joseph Schrmack was born in Lansing , Ohio March 20, 1931.  He passed away March 9, 2026, at Cascadia Care Center located at Nampa, Idaho.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Schrmack and Rose (Batysta)Schrmack, Wife, Shirley (Fuller) Schrmack, Bother, Buddy Schrmack and hiswife, Mary Schrmack, Sister, Elizabeth and husband Emilio Pollastri, Sister Margaret and her Husband, George Baxter, Sister, Roseanne Schrmack, Daughter-in-law Patricia (Flanagan) Schrmack

James is survived by son, Charles Schrmack, Daughter, Kathleen Richardson and her husband Larry Richardson, also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

Jim was raised in Mutton Hollow Ohio, Jim was a happy, curious kid, and known by his family and friends to enjoy causing a little mischief in his hometown. Jim graduated from Bridgeport High School and went into the military. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, flying some amazing aircraft for the war effort. He attended the Milwaulkee School of Engineering and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at MIT, working on guidance systems for the Apolo programs. He worked for over 2 decades at Raytheon Company in Sudbury and Northboro MA as a high-level manager on several U.S. government programs.

During his career, he lived in Leominster MA with his wife, Shirley, Son, Charles and daughter, Kathleen.

During his life, Jim enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling. He went on travel adventures to Alaska, Africa and Isreal to name a few. Jim had a robust passion for cooking. He was proud of many of his own delicious creations and swearing to never give out his secret recipes.

Jim also enjoyed the family of friends he made at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Chrurch in Leominster. He participated in many church activities and fundraising fairs.

One of Jim’s greatest passions was serving as a member of the CTE programs at Leominster High School. He worked on the Devil Dawgs Robotics Team for 20 years. He made numerous friends at Leominster High School, all of whom are very dear to his heart.

Jim is most remembered by family, friends, colleagues, and students for his loving, kind character and willingness to help others. He also loved to make people laugh, usually cracking jokes and making them smile.

During the last few years of Jim’s life, as his health deteriorated, he lived in Idaho with his daughter and her husband. Ultimately, he moved into Cascadia Care Center, where he passed away peacefully. Jim will be greatly missed by so many people who were blessed to have shared any part of their lives with him.

Funeral Service 11:30 at Holy Family of Nazareth Church followed by a graveside service at St. Leo’s Cemetary, 360 Lancaster St. Leominster, MA

A gathering of family and friends will follow the graveside service at Holy Family of Nazareth. Food and refreshments will be provided.
