IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Lavelle
Nixon
February 6, 1951 – June 11, 2012
James Lavelle Nixon was born February 6, 1951, to Holworth and Marthabelle Rudger Nixon. His childhood and teen years were spent on the family ranch at Brownlee. He left this earthly life on June 11, 2012.
Jim attended all grades of school in Cambridge, graduating from Cambridge High School in 1969. He attended Treasure ValleyCommunity College in Ontario, OR, graduating in 1971, earning an AS degree in Mechanical Technology. Jim and Colleen Hickey were married January 31, 1970. Two daughters, Monica Anne and Katie Lynn were born to this union. In 2005, Jim married Dixie Lee of Cambridge, ID and they later divorced.
Jim worked for several Weiser businesses, overseas in Saudi Arabia for Prince Alsadari and for Idaho Fish and Game for 21 years. His great passion in life besides his family and friends, was rebuilding old cars and riding his Harley, Miss Violet. His daughter, Kate, enjoyed spending time with him last summer in his 1934 Ford and helping to design and paint the car. He was close to both his children- a good father to them always. He was a kind and generous man that never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Preceding Jim in death were his dad and grandparents Laurence and Minnie Nixon and Rudy and Valera Rudger. Surviving him are daughters Monica Anne Nixon, Las Vegas, NV and Katie Nixon Beckdolt (Jim) Hailey, ID, mother Marthabelle Nixon, Salubria Center, Cambridge, brothers Jack and Don Nixon, sister Lee Nixon, Weiser ID.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
My Creed- Author Unknown
Im just an ordinary man with ordinary ways
I do not fear the critics ban, or seek the flatterers praise
But as I walk lifes busy way, I do the best I can
To meet lifes problems day by day and prove myself a man
I know my faults are many, my virtues are but few
Excuses, I havent any- Im human just like you.
But in my human erring way, I work and think and plan
Each Day to Live, some aid to give- help my fellow man
The world will never call me great
For fame I have no desire
I may not leave a great estate
for people to admire
But when Ive gone the silent way
And lifes brief days shall end
I hope all whom Ive known can say,
"Im glad he was my friend"
if I can do a kindly deed to lighten someones load
If I can be a friend to those in need along lifes weary road
If I can help a brother see the sunshine through the rain
Though I may die in poverty,
I have not lived in vain.
Goodbye, our son, father, brother and friend.
May you rest in the Lords arms
Safe from earthly harm
And dwell in the House of the Lord
Until we meet you again.
