The sweet spirit of Jim Rogers, a kind and gentle husband, friend and "father" to the many people he helped and mentored over the years left the earth, and he passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2017 as a result of complications from a stroke and other health issues. Just as he chose serving and giving of himself during his life, in death he chose to donate the usable parts of his body to others so their lives can be saved or improved. Although he had a variety of jobs in the music and technical industries, Jim considered his time with Hewlett Packard the best working years of his life. He was excited to go to work every day and do the best he possibly could to serve HP and its customers. He was proud of the many awards and positive reviews he received during his sixteen year tenure. Some of the friendships he developed while working there continued even after his position was outsourced to another country. At the time of his death he was retired, but he always said he wished he was still working. Jim was an accomplished chef who loved nothing more than spending the day in the kitchen creating superb meals and serving them to his wife, family and friends. He spent hours poring over recipes and menus, selecting the perfect dishes for each occasion. He loved passing his culinary skills on to others and willingly shared the recipes for his creations with anyone who wanted them. He delighted in teaching the young people who lived with him and his wife how to make delicious and healthy meals and snacks. His wife and best friend Shari, mother-in-law Virginia Martin, sister-in-law Sandy and husband Bob Geier, niece Sita and husband Doug Marion, sister Carol and husband Ned Jacobsen, niece Aubrey, husband Sule Suleiman and son Ash, and nephew Ryan Jacobson, his friends, and his many "children" who shared his life and his home will all miss him greatly. His passing has left a hole that can never be filled, but his spirit lives on to comfort those he loved and who loved him in return. Jims family appreciates the kindness and excellent service provided by John Yraguen and the Nampa Funeral Home. In accordance with Jims wishes, there will be no service.
