James "Jim" Sword, 78 of Melba passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa. Jim was born on March 31, 1937 in Nampa, Idaho to Nellie and Thomas Sword. He spent most of his adolescent years in Nampa, Idaho until he enlisted in the United States Army at age 16. He served in the Vietnam War and was later stationed in Germany where he met his wife, Christine. During his time in the US Army, Jim earned several honors including The Bronze Star and The National Defense Medal. After spending 27 years in the US Army, he retired as a Sergeant First Class. Jim is survived by his wife, Christine and two children CJ Sword and Jennifer Turner. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 at 10:30am at the Nampa Funeral Home in Nampa, Idaho.
