Jamie Sexton, 38, of Middleton, died September 12, 2011, in Stanley, Idaho, in an airplane crash. He was born May 20, 1973 to Jerry & Reva Sexton. Jamie was the wonderful, beautiful husband of Sue Reding-Sexton, beloved father to Cooper (a.k.a Coopsta) and kind, guiding step father to Janee and Derek Mestrovich. Known for his loyalty, hard work, kindness, sudden outbursts of laughter, his horrible fear of spiders (dude-hey dude) good-humor, frowns, his warm-hearted nature and his huge soft heart, Jamie will be missed.
Jamie loved his life. He was determined to provide for his family and made every second count. He was a co-owner in Blaze Runners Inc., a private wildland firefighting company, and owned Sexton Trucking. In his spare time Jamie enjoyed fishing and hunting and was looking forward to taking Cooper to South Dakota in November to watch him shoot his 'first deer'. Cooper looked forward nightly to the sound of his daddy's gravel truck and would always ask 'How was your day, Dad?' Jamie was a dedicated father to his already made family and didn't dare miss a wrestling match, football game or dance performance. He spent many hours disciplining his dog Josie, also known as 'Hey Dumb Dog come here.' Jamie soon learned that traveling was very important in Sue's life and was scheduled to leave this week for Mexico. Last year, Jamie was spotted with a tear running down his cheek as he watched Janee say her marriage vows to her love, Alex. Little did Alex know Jamie was determined to watch him catch his first fish and shoot his first gun.
Jamie leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Sue and three children Cooper, Derek and Janee (Alex), his parents Jerry Sexton and Reva Sexton; sisters Tracie (Larry) Colozzi, Kim Dayley; brothers Mike (Wendy) Johnson, Bob (Kim) Piersol, Brad (Maria) Sexton, Shane (Diane) Sexton; preceded in death by his grandparents and brother-in-law Jerry Reding. A celebration of Jamie's life will be held at Crossroads Community Church, 4152 E. Amity Ave., Nampa at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. A private family burial will precede the services in the Middleton Cemetery. The ceremony held in Nampa will be followed by a dinner for all to join and celebrate the life Jamie brought to this community. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
