Janice Marie Warren Larsen
Janice Marie Warren Larsen of Nampa, Idaho passed away December 30, 2016. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Janice was born March 29, 1941 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky to Earl E. and Ida Elizabeth Holmberg Warren. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland with her brother Arthur Earl "Junior" Warren and three sisters, Ida Mae Warren Perry, Delores Warren Vallimont, and Sara Jane Warren Staub.
Janice was devoted to her faith and her Savior, Jesus Christ. When her big sister Ida Mae married a Mormon, Janice grew curious and invited the missionaries to her home. She was baptized when she was 17 years old, along with her sister Sara. Later, their mother and much later their father would also join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
When Janice was 18 years old she met Donald Leo Larsen at a New Years Eve dance in Maryland. He was an Idaho farm boy stationed with the US Army at Fort Holabird, Maryland. They danced all night and he spent the next few days frantically trying to find her. They were married August 12, 1960 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple and made their home initially in Maryland, and later in Idaho. They raised seven children in Wapello, Idaho, Moses Lake, Washington, and Nampa, Idaho. Janice was a homemaker, dedicated partner to Don in his work and education, and also worked in various accounting positions for Big Bend Community College, Nampa Chamber of Commerce, and the Nampa School District.
About fifteen years ago, Janice began showing symptoms of memory loss. She was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimers disease. While her mind and body were ravaged by this devastating illness, her family has been comforted to know that Janice would be able to return to her loving Father in Heaven and would have her mind and body fully restored and be able to live with her family for eternity because of the Saviors atoning sacrifice. Long ago, Don promised Janice that he would find her and help her through this journey. His example of love, faith, devotion and obedience as he tenderly cared for her has been a strength and blessing to all who know and love them.
Janice is survived by her eternal sweetheart Donald Leo Larsen, their seven children: Neil (Cynthia) Larsen, Dona Lee (Ben) Carling, Elizabeth Ann (Garth) Kofoed, Douglas Warren (Andria) Larsen, James Peter (Francisca) Larsen, David Earl (heather) Larsen, and Heather Marie Larsen, twenty-eight grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren with more on the way.
