Obituary

Jerry Earl Leverett of Nampa passed away on August 7, 2010. Jerry was born November 23, 1939 in Brevard, NC. As a young man, Jerry was a high school football star in Hendersonville, NC. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller until he retired in 1978. He then began a second career with the FAA Flight Service until his retirement from the FAA in 1995. During his military service, Jerry was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and fell in love with Idaho for all the outdoor opportunities it offers. An avid outdoorsman and sports fan, Jerry loved hunting birds with his dogs, fishing with his friends, and watching his beloved Boise State Broncos play football.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents John Earl and Geraldine Leverett, his brother Tom Leverette, and his god-daughter Kara Babineau. He is survived by his nephew Larry Leverette of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, his cousin Joann Waldrop of Anderson, SC and his god-children Ashley Brown, Ben Babineau, Trevor Babineau, and their parents Dan and Mikki Babineau of McCall, ID. Jerry has requested no memorial services be held, but those wishing to honor his memory may make contributions to one of his favorite organizations: Idaho Youth Ranch, Muscular Dystrophy Association, or the National Rifle Association.
