Obituary

Jerry Raymond Reding, 55 of Nampa, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday September 12, 2011 due to an airplane accident near Stanley Idaho. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Crossroads Community Church, 4152 E. Amity, Nampa. Private family burial will precede the services at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.

He was born in Nampa Idaho on April 30, 1956 the son of Raymond and Arlene (Flowers) Reding. He was raised on the family farm and was educated in Nampa, graduating from Nampa High in 1975. Jerry enjoyed life to the fullest and was a friend to more people than can be numbered. Family was his #1 priority and farming was his livelihood. He had a passion for flying and obtained his pilot's license in 1997. He also enjoyed spending time with his loving wife and wonderful children and grandchildren. Jerry was the rock of the family and was willing to go above and beyond for anyone in any situation. His smile and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jerry's love for Jesus was evidenced by his dedication to church and his everyday way of life. Many described Jerry as always there to help without expecting anything in return.

He met and married his sweetheart Jane Dufoe on June 22, 1978. They began their life together on the farm where they raised their 4 children with hard work and lots of love. Jerry instilled the value of hard work, commitment, faithfulness and generosity along with selflessness to and through his family.

Jerry leaves behind his wife Jane and 4 children: daughter Michelle and husband Augustine Pereira, daughter Brenda, son Andrew and his wife Brittany Kingrey, and son Lucas along with 3 grandchildren: Jennifer, Irene "Fred", and Bentley "My Little Flying Buddy". He was expected to be a grandfather 4 times over in December to Addison. He was also a great grandfather to Lexani. He is also survived by his parents, Raymond and Arlene Reding; and his siblings, Darlene (Leonard) Cross, Mary Caywood, John (Brenda) Reding, Sue Sexton, Angie (Lamond) Thueson and Jeff (Misty) Reding. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, Uncle, and Friend who will be greatly missed leaving a void that can't be filled. Jerry was so very proud of the accomplishments of his children and wife; he was continually encouraging them to do their absolute best in all they do.

He was preceded in death by his brothers in law, Bruce Caywood and Jamie Sexton, brother Lynn Reding and his grandparents.
