Obituary

Arthur Gerald (Jerry) Robinett of Nampa, Idaho passed away July 12, 2010. He was born December 31, 1925 in Clayton, Kansas to Ethel and William Robinett. He served in the 1st Marine Division-1st Tank Battalion in WWII participating in Battles in the Pacific Theatre in Pelelliu and Okinawa. After returning home he married his childhood sweetheart Norma Branscomb in Clayton, Kansas. They would have celebrated their 64th anniversary this month. He worked as an electrician in California, Nevada, and for 23 years at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Shop 51 in Bremerton, Washington retiring in 1981. He then worked writing electrical code and doing inspections on Navel Carriers. In 1991 they moved to New Plymouth ID where he was active in the VFW and Payette DAV. He was most proud of his seven children, nineteen grandchildren, twenty- four great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Norma, daughters Sue Hays (Rob) and Carol Perkins (Brice), sons Bill, Jeff (Floss), John (Stephanie), and Mark (Shari) Robinett, and brothers Jim (Carolyn), and Richard (Arlene). He was preceded in death by his son Dennis, and sister Vonna Dean. At the age of 78 he took up quilting which he really enjoyed, producing about eight quilts most were in a very difficult Ohio Star Pattern. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Nampa Funeral Home Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa ID. Graveside Services at Rosedale Cemetery in Payette, ID 2:00 Friday with a Military Honor Guard, followed by luncheon served at the New Plymouth VFW Hall, 114 New Plymouth Ave. at 3:00.
