JoAnn McNeil June 13, 1937 – September 14, 2026

JoAnn McNeil, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away on September 14 at the age of 89. She was born on June 13, 1937, in Rupert, Idaho, to Herbert and Lena Storey.

JoAnn shared nearly 69 years of marriage with the love of her life, Ernest L. McNeil. Their devotion to one another was an example to everyone who knew them, and after Ernest's passing last year, just shy of their 69th anniversary, she missed him deeply. Her family takes comfort in knowing they are together again.

JoAnn made her home a place of warmth, where guests were often greeted by the wonderful aroma of something cooking in the kitchen. Her walls reflected her gift as a painter, filled with art that showed her talent and creativity. Outside the home, she was a dedicated golfer who loved the game and the time spent outdoors. Some of her happiest hours were spent around a table playing cards with friends, where her company was as treasured as the game itself.

Above all, JoAnn cherished her family. She loved nothing more than spending time with her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she lit up whenever they were near.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest. She is survived by her son Jeff; grandchildren, Jazmine and JJ; her great-grandchildren Lyla, Hadley, Louisa, Benjamin, and Margot; Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.

A funeral/memorial will be held on October 20th at 2pm at the Idaho State Veterans cemetery.

She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
