Joe Raymond Romero died on August 8, 2017 in Meridian, ID at the age 76. He was born to Dan and Flora Romero on October 14, 1940 in Fruita, CO. He grew up in Fruita and later moved to Nampa, ID where he worked hard in the fields around Canyon County. Having lived and worked in Nampa most of his life, he decided on a change and spent some in Burns, OR working at TecTon Laminates Corp. He was quite a junk collector, and he left behind 'a hell of a lot of stuff. His wife, Esther, has no idea what to do with.' He was always on the lookout for unwanted things he could turn into treasure. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and going to the mountains to cut firewood. He also enjoyed working with engines and machines and was generally an all-around tinkerer. Joe also liked sports cars. He always enjoyed talking about his 1972 Plymouth Barracuda. Joe is survived by his wife of 41 years, Esther (Cerda) Romero, His sisters Toni Redding (Joe) of Grand Junction, CO, Anna Vargas (Luis) of Nampa, ID, Charlotte Archer (Jim) of Nampa, ID, and Linda Martinez of Nampa. Brothers, Fred Romero (Kay) of Nampa, ID, Ted Romero (Denise) of Nampa, ID, and Bill Romero (Marletta), McCall, ID. His children Bobby Joe Romero of Nampa, ID, Debbie Romero of Nampa, ID and Johnny Romero, (Diana) of Caldwell, ID. Also 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. Vigil services with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00PM on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel The Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nampa, ID. Internment will follow at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
