Obituary

John Adams Obituary "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son so that whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life." John 3:16 John Adams entered "everlasting life" on Dec. 3, 2020 while sleeping peacefully. God and His Word were Dads passion, and he lived to share the Good News with others. He was an active member of College Church of the Nazarene and Gideons International. He lived with a song in his heart and was a member of 3 choirs. Dads last hours were spent singing with family members on the phone. John was born in Greece in 1932 and was raised on a farm in New Mexico with 4 siblings. He loved working outside and "caring for Gods world" by picking up trash, recycling, reusing, and reducing may years before it was "a thing to do". One of his favorite sayings was "leave it better than you found it." John graduated from Pasadena Nazarene College with a degree in education and the joyful beginning of a 65 year marriage to Viola. He earned a masters degree in administration from the University of New Mexico. He was a social studies teacher, traveler, and active reader. "God Bless America" is one of Dads favorite songs. He served in the Korean War, loved to wear his uniform, salute fellow veterans, 1st responders, and the American flag. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. "Uncle John" never met a stranger and loved serving others. In addition to teaching, he cared for Missionary Children in Papua New Guinea for 10 years, taught Sunday School and participated in bus ministries at College Church. He held Bible Studies at the Detention Center, volunteered at Ronald Reagan Elementary, and Hands of Hope. He was a Nampa neighborhood helper and friend. "Granddaddy" is missed and celebrated by 30 family members including his wife- Viola Adams, daughters - Carisa Blowers & Valerie McMahan, son- David Adams, 3 siblings, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, spouses, and many friends. We rejoice that Dad is singing the Hallelujah chorus and Christmas songs in the Heavenly Choir. A memorial service is being planned at College Church of the Nazarene January16, 2021 at 2 PM with military honors by personnel from the Idaho Army National Guard.
