John Dutton Obituary John Dutton On February 11th, 2023, John Dutton went to be with the Lord. He passed away at Home at the age of 87. He was a loving husband and father, doting on his wife and raising his children, as the Bible says, "in the way they should go". John is survived by his wife Molly, son and daughter-in-law Don and Kolina Dutton, Nampa, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Dave Pywell, Nampa, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Oneta Dutton, and 3 brothers, Edward, Bill, and Tommie. John was born on December 30th, 1935, in Barnard, Kansas. He and his family moved from the Kansas family farm to Murtaugh, Idaho in the mid-1940s. He attended school in Kimberly and Gooding, graduating from Murtaugh High School. It was in Murtaugh he met Molly, the love of his life. They were married in June of 1961 and moved to a house on the Howard Brothers Ranch south of Twin Falls. John worked as Ranch Hand and Foreman there. He loved working with horses, the livestock and working the fields. Don and Nancy were born over the next few years, and in 1965 the family moved to Rupert, Idaho where John took a job as Head Custodian at Minico High School. His 37-year custodial career also included Washington middle school in Rupert, and finally the newly built Paul Elementary where he and Molly worked together for 27 years. Upon retirement, John and Molly moved to Nampa to be near their Children and Grandchildren. Among Johns many talents were carpentry, plumbing, electrician, and all-around handyman. He loved creating and repairing gadgets. He especially loved creating western themed miniature replicas and carvings. In his retirement he honed his carving skills even further and made many carvings that delighted all who saw them. He also loved entertaining the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all loved their "Papa John". A viewing and memorial service for John is scheduled for Monday, February 20th at Nampa Funeral Home. Viewing at 5pm, Service at 6pm. It will be immediately followed by a dinner at Silvercrest Estates II clubhouse, 1907 W. Flamingo Ave. in Nampa.
