Obituary

John James "Jack" Monroe born 3/12/51 in Salmon, Idaho, died on 7/12/14 at his home in Marsing, Idaho. Jack was the second son of Lee A. and Nita Monroe. After high school he joined the army and served eight years, 4 in Germany and 4 in Korea with honorable discharges. He learned to use heavy equipment while there and worked at that for a time, as well as wood processing plants and roofing. He loved animals, especially horses, and dogs, his last companion being Meiko. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Nita Monroe, and one sister, Janie. He leaves behind two sons, Brian (Nakia) Halcom and their 5 children, of Anchorage, Ak., and James Monroe, of Houston, Texas. Two Sisters, Sandra (Russ) Johnson, and Barbra Kramer of Nampa., Idaho. Two brothers Dave Monroe of Virginia Beach, Va., and Louis A. Monroe of Boise, Idaho. And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. One of his favorite sayings was "no matter what happens, keep grinning it makes people wonder what you're up to" .. With a twinkle in his eye, and the best hugs ever, he was a man of generous heart and good humor, always there to help someone in need. The family wishes to thank all of his wonderful friends in Idaho city at the senior center, the new ones at Marsing, and J. Yraguen and staff. A Military memorial service with scattering of ashes will be held on Oct. 16. 2014 at 3 pm at Idaho the State Veterans cemetery. 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise, Id. All family and friends are welcome.
