Obituary

John Patrick Williams, 75, of Nampa, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2010.

John was born on February 25, 1935 in Carrigallen, Leitrim, Ireland to James Williams and Ellen Reilly Williams. He immigrated to Boise, Idaho in 1956 and later became a US Citizen in San Francisco, California. He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1960 beginning in the 11th Airborne in Germany. After his service in the US Army, John went to San Francisco to learn the welding trade.

On October 27, 1962, he married Mary Ann Swetich at St Peter's Church in San Francisco, California. In 1965, John and Mary Ann and son Jim went to Anchorage where they lived and worked for 28 years.

After retiring in 1993, John and Mary Ann lived in San Francisco until 1997 and then moved to Nampa, Idaho.

John enjoyed his working years in Alaska working out of Local 2520, building docks and bridges throughout the state of Alaska. Later he worked out of Local 34 in the San Francisco Bay Area, retrofitting bridges and freeways, retiring in 1997.

He enjoyed traveling and made many trips through the USA visiting National Parks, and trips abroad to Ireland, England and Australia. He enjoyed seeing Alaska in his retirement visiting his kids Jim & Eileen and grandkids and visiting old friends.

John is survived by his wife Mary Ann of Nampa, Idaho; son James Patrick "Jim" Williams, daughter Eileen M. (Jody) Maus, granddaughter Olivia Rosemary Maus, twin grandsons Sean David and Cory Ian Maus all of Alaska; brother Larry Williams of Ireland, sister Helen Murphy of Ireland, cousins Jim Williams of Nyssa, OR, Sharon Carson of Boise, ID and Barb Williams of Caldwell, ID.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Seamus, Cissie, Benny, Lily, Nan, Mary.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 28, 2010 at the St. Pauls Catholic Church, Nampa. Military burial rites will follow in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise at 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Pauls Building on Faith Fund, 1515 8th st. so, Nampa, Id, 83651, or the Disabled Veterans.
