Johnnie 'GATO' Martinez Obituary It is with a great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the loss of our beloved jefe, Johnnie Joseph "GATO" Martinez.
Johnnie was born November 10th, 1948, in Placerville, California. He spent his younger years in Washington, and eventually made Idaho is permanent home. Those that had the privilege to know him knew that he carried the strongest flame in his soul... Quick with his words, but even faster with his hands, he wouldnt hesitate to tell it like it is, or to show all the youngsters the reason they called him the one hitter quitter. He had a heart full of rhythm and feet that could glide across any dance floor.
Johnnie was passionate about all he did, he loved fiercely, cared deeply and laughed wholly, and sometimes at your expense. If he was making fun of you, we all knew it was out of pure love. With no questions asked hed give you the shirt off his back, hed give to those around him never wanting anyone to be without, he was always a giver and never expected anything in return. Johnnie loved many, but he loved nothing more than his dogs, Chico, chuco, coco, and hopie
Johnnie is survived by his children Johnny "Boo" Martinez, Christina Martinez, Cricelda McCormick, Benjamin Lafollette, Jesus "AJ" Avila, Johnny "Buck" Martinez, Theresa Lafollette, Delvin Dominic Martinez and a niece that was like a daughter to him, Angie Ortiz. Along with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren that he was very proud of and cherished dearly.
He is now preceded in death by his mother Christina Montana Martinez and his father Pedro A. Martinez
