Obituary

Johnny William Tipton, 72, Middleton, Idaho, left his earthly home to transcend into Gods Kingdom Friday, November 22, 2013. A military graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 29 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. A reception will follow for family and friends at 3:00 p.m. at the Dealers Auto Auction, 3323 Port St. in Nampa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book may be signed at www.nampafuneralhome.com Born January 5, 1941 in Nampa, Idaho to J.B. "Bert" and Velma (Cupp) Tipton, he grew up as a farm boy and attended schools in Homedale and Arco, Idaho. Johnny left home to join the U.S. Army in 1959 with basic training at Fort Ord, CA and served with Company B 1st BG infantry at Ft Kobbe Canal Zone in Panama. He was honorably discharged in 1961. He was an extremely patriotic man and believed strongly in our countrys constitutions 2nd Amendment for the right to keep and bear arms. His many jobs throughout life included truck driving, a little cowboy-ing, bartending, a moving and storage company, once owned a janitorial business, and most recently enjoyed working at the Dealers Auto Auction in Nampa. Over the years his hobbies included racing stock cars, dune buggies, flying an ultra-light airplane, riding motorcycles, camping and hunting. He loved coffee time with friends at the Sky Park Airport and the Star Caf. Johnny endured the pain of his illness to walk his granddaughter Cori down the aisle at her recent wedding. With the love of his life Fran Wilson, they enjoyed over 31 years together. He is survived by Fran and her family, his mother Velma, sisters Donna Eason and Sharon Conlin and brothers Gene and Terry Tipton, foster son Chuck Bristow, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father. The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice with special thanks to Mo and Chaplain Jay.
