Joseph Reese Hendry, Jr. passed away on October. 12, 2010 at the age of 79.

He was born on August 15, 1931 in Nampa, Idaho to Joseph Reese, Sr. and Garnette Hendry where he was raised and educated. He was married to Elaine Slonecker on March 3, 1951 in Winnemucca, Nevada and they were happily married for 59 years. Together they raised three daughters.

Reese served in the Air National Guard and was activated during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged he returned to Idaho and farmed in the Melba area for 10 years. He was also a long haul truck driver for Albertsons and Simplot retiring from Simplot in 1996.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and restoring old cars. He also enjoyed spending time with all of his grandkids and family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his three daughters, Colleen Ortiz, Carla Baker and Cindy (Don) Milbourn; his grandchildren, Mark Baker, Chad (Susan) Baker, Cody Ortiz, Christy Milbourn, Stacy (Ray) Martinez and Holly Ward; his great grandchildren, Shellbie, Jessica, Cristen, Kayne, Jazlyn, Ray Jr., Austin, Ajoni, Kyle, Abby and Kaiah; three sisters, Sharon Gillen, LeeAudra Soderburg and Sandra (Glenn) Humiston; one brother, Alan (Addy) Hendry; an uncle, Dale (Janice) Hendry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kandi Baker and Cory Ortiz, his parents and his in laws, Wayne and Virginia Slonecker.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 in the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So., Nampa. Burial will follow in the Melba Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Divin-Slonecker American Legion in Melba.We will miss you a lot and remember all the great memories. We love you!
