Joseph Val Keyser
July 20, 1934-March 17, 2015 Joseph Keyser was born July 20, 1934 in Salmon, Idaho to Joseph and May (Grubb) Keyser. He passed away March 17, 2015 at a local care center of pancreatic cancer. He attended schools in Challis, Shoshone and Twin Falls, graduating in 1953 from Twin Falls High School. He then attended John Brown University for two years before joining the Air Force. He was stationed in Colorado Springs and the Azores. He was discharged in November 1960. On June 30, 1961 he married Wilma Herd at the Filer Baptist Church. They had two sons Bryan and Timothy. Joe retired in 1987 from the Caldwell School District. Joe attended Boise State University and graduated in 1972. Joe came to know the Lord Jesus as his Savior as a young man. He like to go to the mountains as long as there was a river, lake or stream to fish in or a good hunting spot at the end of the road. He loved sourdough hotcakes and deer steaks. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wilma, sons Bryan and Timothy, grandsons Samuel and Jeremiah all of Nampa. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to thank the staff of Treasure Valley Hospice and Trinity Holly Rehab for their compassionate care of Joe. A viewing will be held from1:00-2:00 P.M. Monday, March 23,2015 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise, Idaho.
