Joy Hammon Rutledge Obituary Joy Hammon Rutledge, 83, returned home to be with the Lord and Jesus Christ on January 18, 2025. She was born in Cedar City, Utah to Rulon and LaVern Esplin on April 7th, 1941. She had four older sisters and a younger brother. Her parents named her Joy to show they were happy to have another girl in the family. Her family moved to Nyssa Oregon when she was in High School. She graduated from Nyssa High School and worked as an accountant for Ore-Ida Foods in Ontario, Oregon and later in Boise, Idaho.
She married Pete Hammon shortly after graduating from High School and together they had two boys (Larry and Steve). She has 2 Grand Daughters, Lizabeth (Lizz) and Husband Nick Corson with children Austin, Henry, Gracie and Sophie and Megan and husband Bruce Hughes with children Damian, Alexis, Tristan, Chase and Oakleigh and Grand Son Levi Hammon. Pete and Joy later divorced, and she met and married James (Jim) Edward Rutledge. Jim and Joy were married for 27 years. They are animal lovers and have several cats, dogs, cows, and horses.
Joy was preceded in death by sisters Lyta, Clair, and Cleo. Joy is survived by her sister Torma and Husband Dee Winegar and brother Greg and Wife Judene Esplin and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Joy passed away several months after breaking her hip. She will be missed.
