Joyce Uria Snow, 89, of Caldwell, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at home from natural causes. Joyce, the 9th of 11 children, was born April 6, 1937, in Homedale, ID, to parents Joe and Evelyn Uria.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Evelyn Uria, her siblings, Mary Uria, Victor (Roma) Uria, Louie (Bev) Uria, Eddy Uria, Margaret (Jerry) Ensley, Vivian Ensley, Julia (Kenney) Clary, (Bob Wegman), and her son Dale Snow.
Joyce is survived by her siblings, Floyd (Blanche) Uria, Dorothy Wegman, Violet Fries, (Dick Ensley), and 5 of her 6 children - Terry, Sandy (Alton) Howell, Ed, Becky, David (Nivy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a proud grandmother (Amuma) to 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Mom was raised and attended school in Homedale. She and her family spent most of their summers at the Corta ranch on South Mountain near Jordan Valley. Some of her fondest memories were playing in the orchard, the meadow, and reading books in the bunkhouse.
Mom was always a hard worker and did her best at every job. After retirement she was so excited when she opened Everyday Treasures, her own antique resale shop in Caldwell. She loved finding, displaying, and selling her treasures so others could enjoy them.
Mom was a wonderful mother. Her life centered on raising and caring for her 6 children. Her home was always a gathering place for family and friends. She welcomed everyone into her home, and it didn’t matter if they stayed for an hour, a day, or weeks. She was happiest when she had a full house, and she always did. Everyone loved her homemade rolls and cookies.
Mom was so giving and loving. If a loved one or someone she had just met needed anything she would find a way to help them. She made sure everyone was taken care of. She was also very giving with her advice and if you really listened… you knew it was from the heart. Mom may have been small in stature but big in heart and spirit.
Rest in peace Mom. We will miss you so very much.
