Judith Wissel Obituary Judith Elaine "Judy" Wissel 1944-2021 Judith Elaine Wissel was born on April 21, 1944 to Delton Stafford and Margery Helen Meechan Precht in Ontario, Oregon. She died peacefully on May 3, 2021 surrounded by her family, including her beloved husband, Clinton, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and siblings. Born during the war, Judy did not see her father until she was two years old. She and her mother were fortunate to be surrounded by both sets of Judys loving grandparents. Judy spent her early years in Payette, Idaho and continued to maintain the friendships she formed there throughout her life. Judy graduated from Nampa High School in 1962. She attended cosmetology school after high school. On August 24, 1963 she married Clinton Wissel. Their marriage brought together two very large families and their home became the nexus of family gatherings for the next 57+ years. Judy embraced the rigors and rewards of farm life and welcomed family and friends to her farm home with grace and warmth. Judy would often say, "Dont you think we need to get together?" She had a passion for entertaining groups of all sizes. Whether casual or formal, Judy set a beautiful table and fine food was her art. The garden, meticulously maintained landscaping and the many flowers she loved were the backdrop for her hospitality. And none of the aesthetics she planned could outshine her infectious laugh and the warmth of her smile. Judy was a gourmet cook. She enjoyed with passion, the 40 years of planning and preparing meals with her cherished friends in the gourmet group. Far from tying her down, the farm brought with it opportunities for travel. And Judy was an avid and astute traveler, finding herself all over the United States and throughout the world touring and making friends. Two highlights were trips to the Vatican and the Holy Land. For times of retreat, Judy enjoyed the lake at McCall or the beach in Mexico always welcoming groups of family and friends to join her. Judys quilts are a legacy to her keen creative eye and her perfected hand stitching. But more than that, they tell the story of her generosity and the joy she felt as she gathered with friends and sisters to sew. She was proudest of the quilts she made for children and grandchildren. Many were blessed by Judys commitment and empathy. She held offices in numerous charities and clubs throughout her life. She was an active member of P.E.O. Chapter N and served on the Chapter House board. Judy was a devoted and active parishioner at St. Pauls Catholic Church; joining when she and her family moved to Nampa in 1961. Judy is survived by her husband Clinton Wissel, her three children: Jacque (Rodney) Coyan, Christin (Jack Huffstetler) Landingham, Tim (Angela) Wissel, eight grandchildren: Tyler and Sarah Coyan, Caitlin, Caroline, Jack, and Sam Landingham, Jon and Melanie Wissel and one great-grandchild: Charlie Wissel. She is also survived by her four siblings: Linda (Jim) Swain, Bill (Barbara) Precht, Jack (Peggy) Precht, and Kathy (Lee) Sommer and an aunt: Colleen (Mike) Yuhl as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
