June Louise Walker Baker, 79, of Nampa, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born to Newell and Lila Walker June 29, 1935 in Idaho Falls, ID. She grew up in Iona, ID with her sisters and brother.
She graduated from Bonneville High School High School in 1953 and pursued a career in Nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital to become an LPN. She was always dedicated to helping others her entire life. Shortly after becoming a Nurse, she met the love of her life, John L Baker, fell in love and after 5 years of dating they married on December 28, 1963 in Nampa, ID. They would remain together for the next 51 years until her death.
June tried for a child for several years and was finally blessed with the birth of their daughter, Vicki, in 1969. She was her pride and joy. She and John would move to Caldwell, ID and spend 35 years there. She would become a stay at home mom until her daughter started school. The next step of her life would involve her love of animals. She became a dog groomer for Tiffys Pet Shop and remained at this hobby for nearly 19 years. She loved what she did and she cared deeply for animals. She would always give a home to a stray dog or cat. We had many animals in our home, but she had a profound love for Chihuahua dogs and raised many of them with love and care.
In her later years, she and John would settle in Nampa, ID to be closer to their daughter and granddaughters. She would spend most of her time with her beloved granddaughters, Danielle, Samantha and Bailee. She was so proud of these girls. She would spoil them with love and affection whenever she got the chance. The girls loved staying with grandma and grandpa on sleepovers. Grandma would always read bed time stories and make a wonderful breakfast the next day. It was also usually a chance for her to spoil them by taking them out to dinner or shopping. There was always something to do with grandma and they loved being with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Newell and Lila Walker.
