Karen Marjie [Belzer] Mangum, age 84, passed away at Spring Gardens Senior Living facility in Meridian, ID, on April 4, 2025, from complications due to congestive heart failure and advanced dementia. Karen was born in Elliott, North Dakota, on November 3, 1940, the 6th of 8 children, and graduated high school from Velva High School in Velva, North Dakota in 1958. She moved to Nampa to attend Northwest Nazarene College that same year, then married John Robert 'Bob' Mangum, Jr. on July 15, 1960. They made Nampa their home for the next 60 years, where they raised three sons. Karen was a very active member of Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, where she sang in the choir for 40-plus years, played piano for Wednesday night prayer meetings, and worked in the youth department for about a decade. She and Bob also oversaw the church nursery for almost 5 years. And finally, later, she volunteered at Nampa First's Care House before moving into senior living.

During her years in the workforce, she worked as a medical receptionist, bookkeeper, and office manager for various businesses around Nampa, including Nampa Nazarene Credit Union, Mangum Clinic (run by her father-in-law, Dr John Robert 'Bob' Mangum, Sr.), Women's Medical Clinic, and finally Dr. Mark Chown (Surgeon) before retiring in 2006. Karen enjoyed several hobbies including gardening, cooking, canning, and handicrafts like knitting and crocheting, birdwatching, jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

Karen is proceeded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bob Mangum, Jr; her parents, Arthur and Marjie Belzer; her parents-in-law, Dr Bob Mangum Sr & Lois Mangum; five brothers: Norman 'Norm' Belzer, Wesley 'Wes' Belzer, Gordon Belzer, Verne Belzer, most recently David 'Dave' Belzer; and three sisters-in-law: Lony Belzer, Ruth Belzer, and Barbara Belzer. She is survived by two brothers & their spouses: Charles 'Chuck' & Kaye Belzer (Enderlin, ND), and Robert 'Bob' & Flora Belzer (Cascade, ID); two sisters-in-law: Shirley Belzer (Sherwood, OR) & Carol Belzer (Dallas, TX); three sons & their spouses: Jeffrey 'Jeff' & Sandi Mangum (Battle Ground, WA), Kelly Mangum (Nampa, ID), and Bruce Mangum & Dan Hodges (Palm Desert, CA); three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Care House Partnership. Service to be held at Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, 601 16th Ave S, Nampa on Saturday June 21, 2025 @ 10 a.m.
