Obituary

Kathryn Ann "Kay" Book, 63, went home to be with her Lord on March 26, 2014 following a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Kay was born in Caldwell, Idaho on August 9, 1950 to Charles and Anna Klahr. Kay attended schools in the Caldwell area, graduating from Middleton High School in 1968. Upon graduation from high school Kay started her career by accepting a position at the Idaho Free Press in Nampa. During that year Kay married Eldon Book with whom she shared 45 wonderful years. They began their married life in Nampa, where Kay began a professional career with Hehr International where she was employed for 28 years, holding the positions of Manager of Purchasing, Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Manager. Upon leaving Hehr International Kay joined Lineal Veneer, located in Caldwell where she served as Marketing Manager. Kays new position allowed her to travel nationally and internationally working with wood door and window manufacturers.

Kay was always busy and had many hobbies and interests. However, golf was her favorite. She loved nothing more than to play a round with her friends at Hillcrest Country Club. Kay was also an accomplished quilter, and enjoyed creating personally designed quilts as gifts for friends. Kay loved her home and enjoyed being there, whether working in her flower beds or changing the homes interior dcor. Kay enjoyed sharing her home with others, frequently entertaining friends or family, always as the perfect hostess.

Above all else in life, Kays ultimate passion was her commitment to her Lord and Savior. That personal commitment served as her foundation for how she lived her life, always exhibiting love and concern for others. For those who were blessed to have known Kay, her beautiful smile and warm heart is something they will never forget.

Kay is survived by her husband Eldon Neil Book, her brother Keith Klahr (Ann) Star, Idaho, her sister Karla Maxey, (Charles) Houston, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Though Kay will be dearly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that she has achieved her lifelong objective, to reside with her Lord.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Dan Zuckerman and Dr. Tonya Kuhn and the staff of St. Lukes Mountain States Tumor Institute for their kindness and compassion.

The family invites friends to spend time with them Sunday evening April 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church located at 607 No. 13th St. Boise, Idaho to celebrate and share the many wonderful memories of Kays life. A Memorial Celebration of Kays life will be held on Monday April 7 at 2:00 p.m., also to be held at The First Baptist Church in Boise. The family welcomes all those who wish to attend. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book may be signed at www.nampafuneralhome.com
