Obituary

Korena Baker Obituary A simple evening walk turned to tragedy for our family when our wife, mother, sister, cousin and best friend, Korena Baker, 54, was tragically killed. She held on in the ICU for six days as she knew our hearts were breaking to give us precious time to say goodbye. She gave in to Gods will on October 5th, 2022. Korena (our Koko) was born June 9th, 1968, in Wallowa, Oregon to Jack and Susan Thomason. Korena was a massively lovable person and in return she gave a lot of love. Her life took her to Fairbanks, Alaska where she cultivated friendships and graduated from West Valley High School in 1986. Korena met the love of her life, Doug Baker, in Alaska and they were married until her tragic death. Everyone who met Korena, knew that her lifes loves were her boys, Clayton and Camren. Korena and her mom, Susan, had the closest of bonds. They were partners in crime for all lifes shenanigans. They could often be found together laughing and making friends wherever they went. Korena was a strong woman and a maverick of her time. She worked along side her husband while they were mining in Alaska and loved to spend time with her family on their boat along with many other fun adventures. Korena is survived by her Father Jack and Vi Thomason of Indian Valley, Mother Susan and Dick Burns of Meridian, her Husband Doug Baker of Boise, her two loving boys, Clayton and Camren of Boise. Her Brother Doyle and Regina Thomason of Twin Falls, Sister Jackie and Ian Atkinson of Meridian, and Sister Tara Devault and Greg Pojani of Gilbert, AZ. Her Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends are bereft at her passing. Its impossible to express the love and care that are pouring into the family due to losing her in such a senseless manner. In her legacy, please, lets all drive like the most precious person on earth is taking a walk and make sure they get home to their family safe. Celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 9, 2022, 1pm, at 56 Happy Valley Rd., Nampa, ID 83687. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com Services Celebration of Life Sunday October 9, 2022 1:00 PM Celebration Service Home 56 Happy Valley Rd.
