Kurt Batey Obituary Kurt Batey passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in Garden Valley, Idaho on July 18, 2023. He was 67 years old. Kurt was born on February 18, 1956, in Nampa Idaho, the only child of Royce and Janis Batey. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1974. Together with his dad Royce, Kurt founded TJ Forest Products, a company from which he never really retired. Kurt will be remembered for his booming voice, buoyant persona, generosity, wit, charity to the community, and love for his family. He was in his element everywhere he went, but he had a special love for golf, tailgating at Boise State games, family trips, and getting an occasional zinger in on one of his kids. Kurt was preceded in death by his father Royce. He is survived by his wife, Toni; their children, Jason, Kyle and his wife Ingrid, and Hannah and her husband Kyle; their grandchildren Sydney, Kiernan, Maggie, Charley, Sean, Henry, Finnley, and Macklan; and his mother, Janis.
