Harriett Larie Ratcliff, 96, of Nampa, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her retirement home in Nampa. She was born on September 23, 1920 in Greeley, Colorado to Albert and Elizabeth Swearingen. "Larie" was raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she met and married her husband of 77 years, Earl Ratcliff. They relocated to Nampa where they raised four sons. Larie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church as well as numerous community organizations. She was a homemaker and later a secretary, working in a variety of organizations, including the Idaho Secretary of State Office and the Nampa School District. Larie enjoyed camping and fishing and spent many winters in Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jack, half-sister Viola, and son Billy. She is survived by her husband, Earl; three sons, Earl Jr. (Deanna) of Melba, Idaho, Dale (Trish) of Lake Sammamish, Washington, and Terry (Barbara) of Rancho Cucamonga, California; and brother Ted of Farmington, New Mexico. Larie had nine grandchildren, Larie, Brad, Sherry, Billy, Kris, Alan, Trista, Clair and Kay; 13 great-grandchildren, Larie, Cody, Alex, Jeremy, Ben, Drew, Max, Bailey, Jordan, MacKenzie, Jackson, Tyler and Coraine; and several great-great grandchildren. A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Nampa First Methodist Church, 2717 12th Ave. Rd. in Nampa. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
