Larry Blaine Brown passed away peacefully at his home on December 11, 2013, from ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease), he was 62 years old. Larry was born on July 21, 1951, in Nampa, Idaho to Kenneth and Ivena Brown. He was the fifth of six children. He graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1969, and spent his career working in finances including Academy Mortgage, Wells Fargo Bank, AVCO Financial Services, and Transamerica Financial Services. He was a member of the Fairview Golf Course, the Caldwell Elks Lodge #1448 (for 23 years), and in his earlier years the Lions Club. When the weather was nice you could find him at the golf course, in the garden, or exploring the outdoors in his camp trailer. He was very passionate about his family and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He had a great sense of humor with many memorable sayings. He followed Boise State University football, NASCAR Racing (go Jimmy), and golfing. He always enjoyed watching a good western, especially if John Wayne was involved. Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Brown; his children, David (Shawn Marie) Brown of Caldwell, ID; Lauri Brown of Roy, UT; Michelle (Jared) Hainline of Clinton, UT; Melissa (Ryan) Teel of Clearfield, UT; Gregory (Heather) Brown of Brigham City, UT; Amy Brown (Brandon) of Heyburn, ID; and Amanda (Mike) Montoya of Burley, ID; his mother in law, Dorothy Powell of Pierson, IA; 20 grandchildren; his brothers and sisters and their spouses. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Ivena Brown; his father-in-law Jack Powell; and great niece Kalli Ann Brown. The family would like to give special thanks to those friends and family members that took the time to visit and help provide care for Larry. A special thanks to Carina Mora, CNA, the ALS Clinic, and Idaho Home Health and Hospice for all the care they provided. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013, at 11:00 am at the Nampa First United Methodist Church 2717 12th Avenue Rd., Nampa. A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 15 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm and a Prayer Service from 6:00 7:00 pm at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa. Interment at Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
