Gravesite is at Lower Boise Cemetery, 23854 10 Davis Rd, Parma, ID 83660 Preceded in life by his parents Norwood Verne and Betty Margaret Roberts; His wife Marilyn D. Roberts; and two sons: Larry Wayne Roberts Jr. and Verdon Alan Roberts. He is survived by his sons Greg W. Whitsitt, Norwood Alvin Roberts, daughters Vicky Ann Marz, Patricia Anne Munson, Carissa Annette Bledsoe, and Tammy Lynn Hornstein. He is survived also by 10 grandchildren: Chris Marz, Kim Blankenship, Bill, Joe, and Aaron Whitsitt, Windee Montgomery, Destiny Whitebird-Roberts, Jacob, Erik, and Nicholas Munson; and 11 great grandchildren. He was a long-haul truck driver and would be gone for weeks on end, but when he was home, we usually went on camping, fishing, and hunting trips. I always heard the phrase those poor children, but I never knew just what that meant. We had seen the Oregon coast, Washington coast, climbed mountains played in rivers, lakes and streams all our lives. We had many kinds of animals, dogs, cats, horses, chickens and seen and raised many wild animals. We went on horseback rides throughout the hills around Notus, Caldwell, Marsing, and Sand Hollow area. We hunted on horseback around Bear, and McCall. Our childhood was outside and raising animals. We stayed up from sunup to sundown all outside. We made lunches and picnicked in parks, fields, and wherever we were hungry. Looking back, I cant see where we were poor children. I see love energy, and Dad doing the best he could with what was given. I think I saw him at his happiest when he married our mom, Marilyn, but not until I looked at them through my husbands eyes. They loved hunting and fishing together until Mom couldnt go anymore. They loved raising horses together. They loved the babies the most. Whenever one was born they would both be there if not that night then the very next day pouring over how beautiful this one was or how tall and handsome that one was. The horses were a shared thing not a burden most people thought they were. They loved picking out names and pedigrees. Dad loved taking Blue London "Blue" out hunting for as long as he could. When it was hard then he borrowed ATVs from Greg and his boys. My son Erik loved going hunting with his grandpa and I know dad loved those times too. Eriks favorite trip was when he went hunting on Granny. I believe that he is now able to go hunting and fishing with mom, grandma, Little Larry, Verdon and his dad now. I am glad he is not hurting anymore and able to run and play like I remember him doing with Norwood and Verdon. He worked hard, played hard, and loved his family with all his heart no matter what. That is what made him so special and will be missed here very much. Services Visitation Tuesday August 3, 2021 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Nampa Funeral Home 415 12th Ave. So.
