Laurence "Larry" Albrecht

A much-loved dad, papa, son and brother, Larry Albrecht, 68, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away peacefully June 10, 2014, with family present. He had bravely confronted and fought lung cancer. He was born October 8, 1945 in Yankton, South Dakota, to Vitus and Celeste (Hausman) Albrecht. They then moved to Idaho in 1954, and resided here since then.

He joined the Navy January 7, 1964, to September 5, 1969, as an Aircraft Maintenance Controlman, 1st Class. His last duty assignment was Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 3. Larry served two combat tours in Vietnam and received numerous commendations while serving: Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and received an Honorable Discharge.

Larry received his Associates degree in Applied Sciences-Mid-Management from the College of Southern Idaho in May of 1979. He then went on to be a salesman then store manager at United Co-Op, Inc. in Rupert, Idaho, followed by Stockroom Foreman at the J.R. Simplot Co. in Heyburn, Idaho. His last job was working at The Amalgamated Sugar Factory starting in Paul, Idaho, and moving to plant in Nampa, Idaho, where he retired in 2012.

Those who cherish his memory are his children Tracy Albrecht Son and husband David of Kuna, Idaho; Gail Albrecht Pavlock and husband Doug of Kuna, Idaho; Mike Albrecht and wife Francine of Twin Falls, Idaho; grandsons Jordan Albrecht, Kolby Pavlock, and Aiden Albrecht; granddaughters Kaylee Albrecht, Kamille Pavlock, and Clare Son.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy Albrecht. A rosary will take place Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Nampa Funeral Home 415 12th Ave South, Nampa, Idaho at 6 p.m. The funeral will take place Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at St. Pauls Catholic Church 501 W Roosevelt, Nampa, Idaho at 10:00am. Interment will follow at 2pm in Idaho Veterans Cemetery.

The family would like to thank United Hospice and Sunny Ridge Assisted Living for the excellent care they provided with extra-special gratitude to Emilee, Wendy and Heather.
