Lena "Lee" Patterson 94, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday March 5, 2016 at a Nampa hospital. She was very loved and it was a sad day when she passed. She was a very strong lady that had recovered from many severe medical traumas but now was her time to leave us. Lee was born on October 18, 1921 in Dawson NM, where she was raised moving to Raton NM, after graduating high school. She lived in Nampa most of her life. She lived through severe hardships and trials but always put the concern for others ahead of her own. She married William "Bill" Patterson on October 23, 1943 in Reno, Nevada. She said 'Hugs are free' to people she had just met and they quickly became her friends. She shared her hugs and love with many friends. She made friends everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Bill. She and her husband were deeply in love and his loss was hard. She was also preceded in death her daughter Patsy and her grandson Johnathan. She is survived by her sons Jerry, Bill (Kathy); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her many friends and her loving caregivers. Her nightly words were always 'Sleep with the angels'. She is now with the angels. She touched the hearts of many and will be sorely missed. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday March 16, 2016 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday March 17, 2016 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nampa, with burial to follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, in Boise.
