Leota Faye Stokesberry
Born March 22, 1940 in Berry County Missouri, Died July 21, 2017, Nampa Idaho
Leota was born to Charles & Arvella Hilton. She was the oldest of 4 children - Charles, Harold & Carold. They moved from Missouri when she was 3-4 years old. She went to school in Buhl Idaho until the 11th grade. She quit attending school to help with the family when her dad got hurt in a farming accident. She met Robert 'Bob' Stokesberry thru her brothers. They dated awhile and were married on September 9th, 1960 in Buhl Idaho by the Justice of the Peace. At this time, she started working as a waitress at Baties Cafe for $.75 an hour! She then got a job at Green Giant in Buhl working on the corn husker line. She was pretty fast, as she got a bonus every night! During this time, she also worked for Easterday Farms picking clods in the potatoes for a couple of seasons. She then gave birth to her first daughter Pamela Kay. Later, she gave birth to her 2nd daughter Teresa Ann. Leota quit working & decided to stay home with the girls. Bob and Lee then moved to Allen Noble Farms in 1969. So, in the following years, she enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, boating & being with her family. Being with her family made her very happy. While in Nampa, she also worked for Allen Noble Farms on the potato harvester picking clods & did this for 4-5 seasons.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, her brothers Charles Hilton and Carold Hilton. She is survived by her loving husband Bob of 56 years, her daughters Pam Myers (Dan); Terrie Moreno (Jose); 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express great gratitude to Terrie Moreno, Janie and Abby with Canyon Home Healthcare & Hospice. Please make any donations to Canyon Home Healthcare and Hospice or your favorite charity.
