Leslie Jayo Obituary Leslie Lynn Jayo passed away on the evening of December 8, 2022. Leslie was born on October 9, 1943, in Boise, ID to Lois Burris and Vernon Hayes. Leslie attended school in Parma, ID until her senior year, in 1961, where she graduated from Caldwell High School. She attended University of Idaho, graduating in 1965 with a bachelors degree in Communications. Leslie married Gene Jayo of Oreana, ID on May 6, 1966. Over the years, Leslies applied her talents to work at a variety of locations and positions, while holding several volunteer positions. She retired from the Bureau of Reclamation in 2007. She worked as a mediator for Ada County Small Claims Court. In 2010, she worked for US Census. Most recently, she was commonly seen at the Nampa Costco where she worked for CDS and Lennox. Leslie was a life-long volunteer. She donated her time as a dispatcher for the Marsing Fire Department, Owyhee County 4-H Leader, 15 years on the Marsing Schools Board of Trustees, Southwest Idaho RC&D, a Canyon County Pet Haven Foster, and volunteered with the Elderly Opportunity Association until her death. Leslie is survived by her daughters; Melissa Jayo of Jordan Valley, OR and Gena Hoagland of Hillsboro, OR., Brothers Jerry Timmons of Caldwell, ID and Roger Timmons of Nampa, ID along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Gene Jayo, infant daughter, Leisa Jayo, sister Donna Timmons, mother Lois and her stepfather Frank Timmons. Leslie was an avid lover of animals and young people and will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at the Marsing Community Center in Marsing, ID, at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, January 7, 2023. There will be a private interment at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. Services will be conducted by Nampa Funeral Home Yraguen Chapel.
