Lora Marie Shallanberger, 64 of New Plymouth, Idaho was born on August 3rd, 1960, in Portland Oregon. She passed away on April 28th, 2025. She was the fourth of five children in her family.

Lora grew up in Northern California until moving to Boise Idaho in 1975. She graduated from Boise High School in 1978. Lora waitressed at several restaurants in the Treasure Valley, most notably were Merritt's Café, The Trolley, State Court Café, and the Barn. She also enjoyed driving equipment and supplies during the fire season for the Bureau of Land Management. Lora was a great equestrian and loved all animals. Lora and her husband, Skip, spent 2 ½ years living in Delta Junction, Alaska. They spent their free time fishing for salmon and halibut. She loved the wildlife in Alaska, especially moose. They returned to the farm in New Plymouth in 2012 and raised 4 horses, 2 dogs, 11 cats, and a peacock. She began her business of Alaska Nights Fleece Blankets while in Delta Junction, Alaska, and continued her sewing business when she returned to Idaho. She sold her fleece blankets, dog and cat beds, and custom bath towel sets at craft shows throughout the year.

Lora was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Taylor and her oldest sister Diane Ross. Lora leaves behind her husband, Skip Shallanberger, sisters Suzie (Dave) Vauk of Nampa, Idaho, Betty Hutchings of Homedale, Idaho, and brother, James (Karen) Taylor of Chico, California. She has 3 nieces and 1 nephew, 4 great nephews and 2 great nieces, 1 uncle, and 1 aunt, and 3 cousins. She leaves behind her stepsons' Harley and Ty.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Alphonsus in Boise, and the All-Care Hospice and Grace Assisted Living staff in Caldwell for their care of Lora.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made in Lora's name at the Ontario Feral Cat Project in Ontario, Oregon or ASPCA.

A celebration of life will be held at the VFW hall in New Plymouth, Idaho on Monday, June 9th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
