Mamie E. "Betty" Young passed away Saturday May 10 at the age of 93. Mamie was born March 28, 1921 to parents William and Claudia Crowther and lived in Nampa her entire life. She resided at Grace Assisted Living the past two years.

Mamie was married to Lee Young in 1941 and they raised three sons in Nampa. Lee preceded her in death in 1991 .Her interests included sewing, cooking (the best ever cinnamon rolls) and she loved traveling in Mexico. At the age of 82 she found a new hobby, "computing", after buying herself a laptop computer. She became quite proficient at emailing, creating photo albums and internet shopping on sites such as EBay.

She is survived by her sons Ray (Linda), Roy (Ricki), and Rocky (Karen) Young. Also surviving is Mamies younger brother, Robert Crowther of Napa, California. In addition Mamie is survived by 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters along with 13 great grandchildren. A brother, Bill Crowther and a granddaughter Paige preceded her in death.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. The family will greet friends at a viewing and visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
