Manuel Salvador Herrera, 65, of Caldwell, Idaho was brought home to our Lord December 11, 2016 at his home. Manuel was born in Fruita, Colorado in 1951 to Lucy and Joe Fermin Herrera and was raised by his mother and father Lucy and Dan Romero. Manuel then moved to Nampa in 1957 where he was raised and educated. After high school Manuel joined the United States Marine Corp. and served his country from 1970 to 1972. After serving his country Manuel came back home to Caldwell where he called home for the next 46 years. Manuel met his wife Keyva Shelby in 2000 and was married in 2001. Manuel is survived by: his siblings; special friends; and his children; his son Shawn & Ashley Herrera-Plumb, grandkids Rhordan & Aubriel; daughter Laura & Shawn Hebdon, grandchild Lillie; son Rocky Trunell, grandkids Jarrod son Alex & Amy Alvarez; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Manuel loved the outdoors including fishing and camping with family and friends. He was always the first one to tailgate at the BSU football games. He loved to play the game of pool which his son Shawn has never beat him. He has won numerous championships playing pool allowing him to travel to the likes of Hawaii. Manuel loved to be around his family and friends and always left a lasting impression on everyone that met him. Manuel has been fighting his illness for 9 months with the help of family and friends as well as the Veterans Hospital, St. Luke's hospital and West Valley medical center. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
