Marcella Brownfield Obituary Marcella Rosetta Brownfield was born on August 15th 1941to Edgar and Essie Benoit in Neosho, Missouri where she joined her sister Verva and brothers Thomas, Melvin and Bob.
Her family moved to Idaho in 1941 when she was still a baby so she had no memories of Neosho, Missouri. Two more brothers joined the family Steve and John.
When she spoke of her younger years she would talk about her dad working for farmers in the area and how housing was provided so they always had a home.
She married Ronald Brownfield on November 17th 1958 and to this marriage three daughters were born Lorene, Cathy and Stephanie.
They made their permanent home in Nampa at 216 22nd Ave south in 1965 and she truly loved living there. Despite the neighborhood changing over the years one constant person in her life was next door neighbor Connie Greener. When they were each living alone they would look after one another. She was an amazing mother and she raised her girls through difficult times and even when money was tight she always made sure that we had a wonderful meal, she was an excellent cook and never cooked a bad meal even if she had very little to work with. Her favorite meal was a hamburger and fries.
Cathys special memory is how mom would make lunches for Lorene and Cathy for school. She would always make sandwiches and include a bag of chips and a special treat. She would place a napkin on the top of the food and tape a dime to the inside of the lunchbox lid for a carton of milk.
Stephanies special memory is how after school on Tuesday afternoons they would walk to Stephanies dance class and how mom would volunteer to help with the costumes for dance recitals by spending countless hours cutting hundreds of patterns.
She enjoyed going to Disneyland with her daughters and many special memories were made.
She was an amazing Grandmother who faithfully went to her grandsons extra-curricular activities and she never missed a one. She took the time to make each one of them feel special and creating memories with them.
Chriss special memory is of grandma at Christmas making her homemade sugar cookies and icing and coloring sugar for the decorations.
Colt and Jesse share the special memory of grandma standing on the back step to wave at them as they would leave.
The special memory that we all share is the unconditional love that she showed to all of us.
She enjoyed listening to country music and Vince Gill was her favorite artist. She enjoyed walking at the Nampa Rec Center and it was a daily routine of her life and she would walk five miles a day with Stephanie.
She bravely endured the loss of her daughter Lorene in 2010 and the loss of her husband Ronald in 2015.
She worked for the Nampa School District for 30 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her Daughter Lorene Brownfield, Husband Ronald Brownfield, Grandparents, Father, Mother, Brothers Thomas Benoit, Bob Benoit, Melvin Benoit, Steve Benoit and Sister Verva Young.
She is survived by her daughters Cathy (Curtis) Herald, Stephanie Hailey; three grandsons Chris Herald, Colt Hailey, Jesse Hailey, brother John Benoit and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Loa from Ashley Manor Memory Care and Edna from Blue Bird Hospice.
