Margaret Sue Laleff

Margaret Sue Laleff (Baker), beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother went to heaven on April 28, 2026. She was born on February 17, 1951, in Dos Palos, CA. to Claude and Willie Mae Baker along with brother Don Baker, and sister Linda Mae Brewer.

Margaret attended Lancaster High School; she was a cheerleader for 5 years. She spent two years of being a nursing aid in California. She moved to Idaho in 1972. She went to Cosmetology School in 1974 and worked in the cosmetology business as a stylist, cosmetologist teacher, state board examiner, and salon owner. She was also a platform worker for Wella Company.

She married Butch Shelby and together they had two children: Joe Shelby (Laura), and Chrystal Shelby who passed away in 2014.

She married Leo Laleff in 1992 and welcomed a stepdaughter, Tonya Susi (Scott).

Margaret and Leo took many trips together and loved traveling. Some of their memorable vacations included trips to Belize, the Caribbean Islands, Disneyland, and many golfing trips to Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona.

Margaret was busy but always made time to help Leo with the trucking business where she would help find and schedule deliveries and make the business run smoothly. She also raised her 2 grandsons but still was able to find time for her passion, golf. Margaret loved everything about golf, it was her true passion in life. In her golf career she even shot a hole-in-one. She not only played many rounds of golf at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa but also planned and ran the ladies golf tournaments for over ten years. She also loved to go camping, fishing, boating, and being with her beloved Pomeranian dog, Beau.

Margaret is survived by husband Leo Laleff; brother Don; sister Linda; children Joe (Laura), Tonya (Scott); grandchildren Brittany (Nel), Bryce (Mike), Bailey, Dominic (Sam), Kolby, Mark, Marie and a great grandbaby Briella (Brittany).

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 11 am at the Nampa Elk’s Lodge, 1116 1st St S, Nampa, ID 83651.
