Margaret Swanson Obituary Margaret Mae Swanson, 95, of Nampa, Idaho, was born in Monticello, Minnesota, on May 1, 1929, and died November 1, 2024, in Caldwell. Margaret was reared on a farm, attended a one-room school through the eighth grade, and graduated from Monticello High School in 1946. While in high school she met Winfield (Win) Swanson, and they were married August 6, 1946, following her graduation. Win was in the Navy at the time, and they started their marriage in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was stationed. After leaving the Navy Win attended and graduated from Saint Paul Bible Institute in Minnesota, preparing for his calling to ministry. The first three of five children were born during and immediately following the college days, Dawn, Vicki, and Barry. After graduation they began their shared ministry. Son Dwight was born in Batesville, AR, where they were involved in childrens ministry. Over the next 50 years they would serve pastorates in Churches of the Nazarene in Arkansas, Minnesota (son Randy born), Nebraska, Colorado, and Washington. Margaret was a strong, quiet helpmate to her husband, and a loving, supporting mother to her five children. She was a key to Wins pastoral ministry and a gentle, consistent model to her children. Margaret is survived by her children, Dawn (Dwight) Carlson, Loveland, Colorado; Vicki (Loren) Duerre and Barry (Becky) Swanson, both of Nampa; Dwight (Kathy) Swanson, London, England; Randy (Carol) Swanson, Yukon, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. In retirement Win and Margaret moved back to their beloved Loveland, Colorado, where they resided for 13 years. They moved to Nampa in 2017. They had been married for 71 years when Win died in November of 2017. The family wishes to thank Grace Assisted Living and Memory Care and All Care Hospice for their loving care during her last years.
