Marian "Midge" Jeanette Van Gerpen, 82, of Nampa, Idaho, was born on March 8, 1943, in Auburn, Washington, to Marion and Irene Dragoo. She passed away at home on September 28, 2025.

Marian met and married the love of her life, Jerry Van Gerpen, while on a trip to visit her brother in California. They moved to Iowa shortly after, where their six children were born. In 1972, the family settled in Idaho.

After raising her children, Marian worked at PERSI in Boise as a Technical Records Specialist, where she formed many cherished friendships. While in retirement, Marian enjoyed life's simple pleasures—lively conversations, playing cards with friends and family, singing along to oldies, reading a good romance novel, crocheting handmade items for her friends and family, cheering at her grandchildren's sporting events, traveling the country with her sister and researching family ancestry/history. She was the keeper of the family's stories, always ready to share the tales of earlier times, and preserving memories for the next generation.

Most of all, Marian cherished the time she spent with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend; her love, wisdom, and encouragement touched the lives of all who knew her. She molded generations and she leaves behind a legacy of love and resiliency.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Van Gerpen, her youngest daughter, Darcy Van Gerpen, and brother Bob Dragoo. She is survived by her children: Dorenna/Stace Schrader, Darren, Deric, David/Sherri, and Damon/Dawn; along with 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her siblings Jim Dragoo and Myrna Harrod. Marian will be profoundly missed by all who knew her and her absence will be deeply felt.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 11th at 10:00 a.m., at Nampa Funeral Home - Yraguen Chapel with the viewing prior to service. The entombment will follow, in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens cemetery followed by a gathering at Silvercrest Estates 1 Clubhouse 1907 W Flamingo Ave. in Nampa, Id.
